Halloween in Handcuffs

Halloween in Handcuffs

Police in Atlanta, GA are looking for a suspected Hit and Run driver. Last Sunday at 2:30 a.m., surveillance video captured a vehicle running into a gold Mercedes parked on the street.

And, wait for it…

They were in costume! It never fails. Every. Single Year.

Police believe the driver was dressed as the title character from Beetlejuice. *Side note, it is one of my most favorite movies ever and his named is really spelled Betelgeuse.* Ok, nerd rant over.  Back to the story.

Female Beetlejuice’s friends Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and zombie pulled up, checked out the damage and separated the two cars. What no one did, according to the owner of the Mercedes was call the police or leave a note before they all drove away.

Police have the license plates numbers and (shocker) suspect alcohol was involved.

As a Georgia DUI attorney, I have watched numerous arrest videos and looked at countless booking photos. Being placed under arrest for DUI is a terrible and often embarrassing experience, but doing so in costume is usually a mortifying experience. Most clients do not want to relive the arrest experience regardless, but it is exponentially worse to watch and look yourself dressed as a sexy cop or adult baby.

HOWEVER, I am no party pooper! Wear your costume, go to parties, have fun!

But, as always, stay safe. Goblins and Ghouls are scary, but nothing is more terrifying on Halloween than being arrested for a DUI!
